In recent years, the factor of climate change has been an increasing aspect of our society. Although when people hear the words climate change, they probably refer to increasing heat conditions. But in certain parts of the world, the weather has gone in the opposite direction. For example, China is going through its most brutal and cold winter in 30 years, and Russia is to the point that traffic lights stopped working in the city of Yakutsk. In addition to these all time lows, the factor of increasing heat still remains as another addition to the changing climate. Australia recently received a record-breaking heat wave causing bush fires. These disasters occurring around the world are just some of the insane natural outbreaks happening, and at our current rate of damage being dealt towards Earth, it will most likely only get worse. This shows that people need to start paying more attention to how their actions may affect the environment, because if they don't start trying to make a difference, future disasters will be even more outrageous than these ones

I definitely agree with Jeff about how people worldwide need to mind their actions with the environment. People who act like global warming is false simply because some regions are getting chilling climates need to be educated. Extremes on both ends of the scale are occurring through climate change, not simply global warming. I believe this is still intensifying because too little action is being taken too late. The entire world, especially the United States must increase their efforts at eco-friendly fueling and energy. What has been preventing us from collectively going “green?” I feel like it’s the same aspect of change which has prevented the conversion to the metric system, even after decades. We can fear change, but it is coming whether we want it or not.
ReplyDeleteHowever, there’s always dispute over global warming. Here’s another opinion of the current situation. http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/blog/2013/jan/09/global-warming-met-office-paused
I agree, people can and will fear change, but there come times where rapid change is necessary, and I believe many people understand that. However, not enough people are educated enough on climate change to make an educated decision about this change. The most important power people have is their knowledge. Once somebody is actually show the facts about climate change, they will undoubtedly be wiling to make change. Information can be found here: climate.nasa.gov/evidence/
