This article describes homosexuality in African countries
and how it is illegal in many of them. This event will probably raise
questioning around the world. I think people should be respected for their
sexual orientation. A major part of this event is about people respecting each
other. There is diversity among society whether in culture, ideas, or sexual
orientation like in this case. Why do some people not have respect for others
whom they have disagreements with? Even if there are disagreements between people,
those disagreements should not cause arguments, problems, or punishment. People
should not be punished for what they believe in or how they present themselves.
People like Jean-Claude Roger Mbede are unreasonably punished for living life
by their values. This event is similar to world-wide controversies about
gay-marriages. Why do some people not respect gay rights? What makes
homosexuality different from other sexual orientations? In both cases people
are not respecting gay rights and are not allowing people to live life the way
they choose. While many support gay rights and other beliefs/values, many do
not.
I agree with you Emma,
ReplyDeleteWe are all people and we should respect the personal beliefs of individuals. people cannot change their sexuality, they are born with it. It doesn't matter if one "punishes" another because of they have a different sexuality, they will remain the same, only that they will be restricted of open happiness. We are all born with natural rights that need to be respected, no matter what. That is why I believe that gay marriage should be allowed.
