Recently, the Intelligence Committee of the U.S. recommended that American companies should not be carrying out mergers and acquisitions involving two certain Chinese firms saying that their equipment could be used for spying in the U.S.A and the companies should find alternative suppliers. This case is described as a “national security threat” to the United States, the Intelligence Committee had obtained documents from former employees of one of those two companies saying that their equipment services a “cyberwarfare” (politically motivated hacking to conduct sabotage and espionage) unit in the communist party of China.
Both presidential candidates,Mitt Romney and President Obama, think that the appropriate approach to China is a tougher and confrontational approach.
What do you think about this case?
