The Taliban attack and wound a pakistani teen activist for woman's rights blogger

A 14 year old pakistani girl was wounded by the Taliban after they open fired at her school van. This reminds everyone of how powerful the Taliban is in Pakistan and right now, they cannot be stopped. The extremists are willing to kill anybody in their way of absolute power. This connects to the class because we have been talking about absolute power and for years the Taliban has been trying to get this. They have taken over and controlled many parts of the country throughout the years as well as try to make Pakistan weak to their power by bombing many sites and terrorizing their own nation. You can only imagine what the people of this country in complete war are going through right now.

  1. I agree that the Taliban has absolute power over the people. The Pakistani Taliban admits responsibility for the shooting but justifies their act by blaming Malala for blogging post against the Taliban.Because this "justification" does not seem reasonable, it shows the absolute power that the Taliban has. The article states that this event caused "Pakistanis to take a harsh look" at the extremist of the Taliban. It shows that people might be able to criticize the Taliban but they are not able to take actions to stop them. I think this shooting can cause some motivation but unless people overcome their fear, they won't be able to make any changes.

  2. After researching this article more I found another one similar to this one. A 16 year old Pakistani reported that she had received numerous threats from the Taliban as well. Her mother also received threatening calls stating that her daughter was next. The teen spoke out that she doesn't feel safe in her hometown or at school. She won't be attending school anymore because she will never know if she could be taken. They had to move to another town where they could feel more comfortable. No one should feel the need to move out of their own home to feel more safe. The Taliban are obviously very smart and strong people so will this ever end? The US and other countries should step in but this would mean more trouble for their families.
