Syrians Attempt 'A Normal Life'

I believe the mentality of these people is a huge step forward for Syria and the possibility of ending this war.  Syria has been beating itself up for over a year and a half now and nothing significant has changed, but war is war and many people, both protesters and government officials, have lost their lives.  But now many are trying to move on, and many Syrian people not directly involved in the conflict are making an effort to move on and restart a normal life.  I find it amazing that these people are able to start working after being in the center of a war.  Being an upper middle class American citizen I find it hard to imagine what it is like to live in the middle of a civil war.  These people have had to deal with people dying all around them, and constantly living in fear of any one of many bad things that could happen to them.  Personally I can’t even imagine what that would be like or what effect it would have on me.  For the people interviewed who have and are living through this, the war has apparently just inserted a sad awareness to their lives and has put a strain on many families. I really hope life gets better for these people, and that the Syrian uprising can come to a compromised ending sometime in the near future.

  1. I agree with your opinion on this article. I cannot possibly imagine how the people can do day-to-day "normal" activities in the middle of a war going on. While there is all just misery, death, and sadness, they are able to somewhat "move on". I understand that the war has been going on for a while, and people seemed to have practically gotten tired of the war and just resume back to an average life. Also, they have gotten so used to it that it has become part of their own lives, something that will, unfortunately, stay with them for a long time.
