Jerry Sandusky is Sentenced to a Minimum of Thiry Years in Prison

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-19887213
On Tuesday, October ninth, 2012, Jerry Sandusky was sentenced to a minimum of thirty years in prison, meaning he will most likely die in prison. This is the end of the long eleven month process of arresting Sandusky and convicting him.In my opinion, this is a good outcome. I believe it is absolutely disgusting of Sandusky to have committed these 45 molestations. I also believe all of the people in Penn State University that knew about these acts are also at fault. If I were in that position, I would have definitely turned him in to the police because it is not about your school's reputation, it is about the victims of Sandusky. Overall this was a series of horrendous events that led to 45 molestations by a terrible man. Also, this article says that Sandusky still denies these acts. This shows that this man is obviously not fit to live in society and it is good that he will probably never make it out of prison. You may ask yourself if an event like this will ever happen again, and the answer is yes. It is a sad reality that there will always be people like Sandusky, and people to overlook their acts like the staff of Penn State.

This news will give relief too all the people hurt by the acts that Jerry Sandusky commited. This includes the 45 cases of molestation that have been filed against him, but also the numerous people that are also affected. This includes the cases that were not filed against him because of fear, the families of all the victims, as well as the entire Penn State community. The actions of this one man not only brought the downfall on the Penn State football program, but also disgraced the legacy of one of the former most exalted coaches in the history of college football, former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno. This case has been a huge scandal in college, and now that Sandusky has been put behind bars for likely the rest of his life, there is closure for the families of the victims, as well as the community at Penn State. The people from Penn State who knew about, but did not report, Sandusky's disgusting offenses are to blame as well. To turn a blind eye to the sexual abuse that Sandusky commited was a crime in itself, so the entire football program at Penn State deserves blame. I am glad that justice has been served in the case of Sandusky, however the lives of the children he molested can never completely heal from his acts. If only Sandusky had been turned in earlier, many victims would be saved from this monster. He should have been stopped 15 years ago, and all those affected are paying for it now.

Jerry Sandusky absolutely deserves these consequences. He harmed and destroyed the lives of many. These innocent victims did not deserve this horrible experience. Sandusky even made many of these victims scared to press charges or file against him. He well deserves to be sentenced in prison. Parents, students, faculty, and others trusted him to be a great assistant football coach for Penn State, however he took advantage of the students and abused them. This was a very emotional experience for Penn State, families of victims, and the victims themselves. Some people do not respect or like Penn State because of this incident, but people should not take it out on the school because it was not the school who commited the crime, it was Sandusky. These victims can never change this experience in their lives; they have to move on even though it is tough because it had a huge impact on their lives. It was very brave of these victims to come out with the truth and press charges. Jerry Sandusky commited a crime and I am glad he was put in prison because many children and families will never be the same. We are all now more aware that terrible things can happen anywhere.
