Hurricane Sandy

Hurricane Sandy is compared to Hurricane Irene, both had caused power outages for millions, flooding, and surprisingly were both on the same week. Hurricane Sandy has left 8 million people without power, damage has been done all over the east coast due to winds up to 60 miles per hour. the storm has also put the New York City subway bus and school systems to a halt. Forecasters said on Tuesday that they no longer expected the storm to turn to the northeast and travel across New England. Instead the storm has changed direction and is now heading west.

I have been effected by the storm as well as millions of others, I have lost power for over 40 hours showing how bad some parts of massachusetts have been hit. But in New York City where my cousins live they say it is much worse with some parts over a foot under water. What surprised me was that some people such did not expect much from this storm but were proved wrong.
