This was a great leap in world technology. I think that it showed how advanced our world is getting. Felix Baumgartner was the first man to skydive faster than the speed of sound. He was free falling for a total of four minutes and 20 seconds from 24 miles above the Earths surface. I think it is amazing that someone can do this because even though the speed of sound is slow compared to light, it is still 768 miles per hour. The technology to build the space suit to withstand the speed and pressure had to have been very strong. Also, Baumgartner went up 24 miles by himself in a hot air balloon, the highest one has ever gone. The technology was very advanced to bring someone that high in a hot air balloon.

I agree that this accomplishment shows the next level of technology for people. It proves how if an idea is posed, it is a lot more possible to have it done in a modern day scenario as appose to the past. This jump also shows how the modern society can be extremely brave, and not afraid to do whatever it takes to accomplish a dream; Felix jumped from 24 miles above the Earth, and his life depended on nothing but the technology that was used for this leap of faith so he could get his goal done. It’s a very inspirational story, and may give people the thought of doing whatever their dream is, no matter how ridiculous it may seem. With the technology people are supplied now a days, such things can be accomplished.
